We stayed at the Frogner House Apartments after doing the Norway in a Nutshell route from Bergen to Oslo. One thing to consider, if you are doing that route, is that the luggage porter services that will collect your baggage in Bergen and deliver it to Oslo need to have a place to deliver it with a reception. Frogner House is not staffed with a reception area. We had not known of that, so when we arranged to have a porter service take our bags, they had to leave them at an office that services the apartments. That office closes at 11 pm, and by the time we got into Oslo on the train, it was almost 11 and while we just made it, it was stressful. Then we had to drag our suitcases a few blocks to the apartments. I was very disappointed with the room we had at Frogner House. There are a couple of pros: it is in a very good location, close to the Vigeland Sculpture Park, and with many nice places to eat nearby; there are nice convenient hooks by the door; there is a large window that opens fairly wide; the finishes are nice; it's modern; the beds are comfortable; the linens were fine including the towels; the bathroom was actually fine except that it has terrible lighting over the sink and it could have used a fan in it because it gets super humid in there when you take a shower. The cons; the room did not look even slightly like the "brochure picture" that was on my booking from booking.com; I thought it was large enough to contain a small couch and that it was going to have an open kitchen area. It actually has an armoire that opens up with a sink and it has has pots and pans, cutlery, and glasses all tucked into this closet. It's a clever arrangement but the room is way too small to even attempt to cook in such a space. There was one small round table and two chairs, but you could only use one chair because the other one needed to have a suitcase on it. I didn't even have a place for my suitcase, I simply stored it upright on the floor and then I had to drag it onto the bed every time I wanted to access it. When we arrived we were tired, it was very late and the room was stuffy and hot. One thing that I didn't know prior to making bookings in Norway was that air conditioning is not the norm. Without air conditioning rooms can be quite stifling in summer, especially on the upper floors. If you want to leave the window open at night, that creates its own issue, as then you can't close the drapes against the long summer light. You can see from the photos that the room as pictured looked quite spacious. The reality was very different. One of the reasons I booked the apartment was the advertised laundry facilities on each floor. While there was a washer and dryer on our floor, the dryer did not work, and when I called the person you are supposed to contact about problems, she said that that was the only washer/dryer in the building. After doing some looking, I did find another washer/dryer on a different floor.

Spent the night in this hotel for the first... and last time. At first look, the hotel looks good - a small clean room with a microscopic bathroom. But the windows do not protect against traffic noise from Bygdøy Alle at all. Under the hotel there is a big bar Bølgen&Moi and the rules say that there must be silence between 23.00 and 07.00. Yes, at 23.00 the music stopped, but at 04.00 it was turned on at full volume again. I have to go downstairs to stop the orgy. There I found alcohol-drinking cleaners who felt themselfs at at home in a closed bar. Judging by their behavior and conversation, this is not the first time they have done such party. Confident in their impunity, they calmed down only after an hour. A sleepless night in the middle of the workweek... So if you want to relax in a hotel in the Frogner area I would recommend that you stay away from this hotel and choose another one.

Great location in a quiet suburb just a short tram or bus ride to all the main attractions of Oslo. The bus stop is right outside the property and very safe and secure. Self check in was very straight forward from the machine and easy to get to the room. There are little boutique restaurants and shops in the area and it is away from all the hustle and bustle of being directly in town. Although it was only a studio room we found it quite spacious and nicely setup even with a little kitchenette - every bit practical and perfect for 4 nights. Bed was so comfortable, WIFI worked well and it was very easy to process self check in when we first arrived. The shower had excellent pressure and it was nice to have the heated tiles in the bathroom as the bath mat was dry by each morning. Loved the contemporary setup of the place and just it's quirkiness. Will definitely stay at this property again when we return to Oslo! Thanks for a great stay!

This weekend we were housed in the most stylish suite in this building. It was 3 nights that I could use my imagination with this incredible scenario. Too bad I could not stay longer in Oslo and finally visit the Frogner church located 25 meters from the apartment in where, by my window, I could imagine Frogner residents from differents eras meeting each other in that church, as well as I imagine how the bars downstairs were the same meeting point in the previous years and for some reason doesn't happen quite like it. Everything comes to an end. The hallways were very similar to a selection of Polanski films. A sum of observations made me only confabulate in my remaining time how this apart hotel institution without building service really works. How do they clean, why don't we have contact with those responsible (besides the tlf.), etc.? Does this method really prevent problems? On my floor, the washing machine was showing signs of problems and on the corridor was soaked with water and soap. As we are in summer, I wore flip flops and I could feel the soap impregnating it. Shouldn't there be a comrade who sort of checked those blunders? The first floor reserves a fascinating sculpture plus 2 empty pubs. At night they close as if they were jewelry stores and the corridor to the apartments looks like the exit from a bank.
